STOKE have offered Quique Sanchez Flores a five-year contract to take over at the bet365 Stadium.

The Espanyol boss did not take a training session at the Spanish club yesterday, with Stoke confident of getting their man.

Flores has promised Stoke an answer within the next 24 hours but Espanyol are fighting to keep him. The 52-year-old (left) refused to discuss his future after leading Espanyol to the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey on Thursday night. Stoke’s first-team coach Eddie Niedzwiecki is expected to be in charge for Monday’s visit to Manchester United.
