DYCHE: ABROAD? THE ACTION IS ALL HERE
SEAN DYCHE says the lure of the Premier League means British managers have little ambition to seek out foreign jobs.
Today, the Clarets boss (right) comes up against Crystal Palace counterpart Roy Hogdson, who has managed in Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark and the UAE.
But Dyche, 46, admits homegrown managers these days are less inclined to look for jobs overseas. “English football at the moment is very powerful,” he said. “The Premier League era has enhanced it. The knock-on effect is that the Championship is very powerful, so a lot of managers want to be there, let alone the Premier League. “If you’re a British manager, why do you want to go somewhere else?
“For football education, would you go abroad? Yes. For recognition? Not really.”
