A captain’s kiss as Rovers fan Clara turns 102
BIRTHDAY Clara & Charlie FOOTBALL-mad Clara Aspin enjoyed a birthday kiss from Blackburn Rovers skipper Charlie Mulgrew after turning 102.
Charlie, 31, popped into her local care home with a cake, card and flowers to mark the occasion – and gave her a peck on the cheek too.
Rovers legend, Match of The Day’s Alan Shearer also tweeted: “Happy birthday Clara X.”
Clara, who first attended a Rovers game at their Ewood Park home in 1927, aged 11, said: “My father went to watch them and I asked if I could go with him.
“I went, I enjoyed it and I kept going! It was a lot different then – the crowds, the ground and we used to have to lean on rails.
“Alan Shearer ... he’s my boy! But I’ve got a new favourite now – Charlie! It’s very nice of him to come and see me.”
