A RIGHT FRIGHT OVER BREXIT SCRUTINY
Who could be afraid of independent detailed economic analysis before MPs vote to accept or reject Britain’s European Union leaving terms? The Brextremists.
Tory fanatics are terrified of objective scrutiny when it exposes how badly their ideological obsession would ruin our country, after lies about an easy deal and £350million weekly for the NHS were nailed.
Intriguingly the Brextremists are splintering with a whiff of sweaty feet when UKIP career politician Nigel Farage flirted with the idea of another referendum.
For Boris Johnson, above, and Michael Gove, the first one was only supposed to blow the bloody doors off. Farage, who has been docked £35,000 of his MEP salary for allegedly misusing public funds, is now worried he’ll lose his first class seat on a Brexit gravy train. The old fraud would be lost without the grievance he spent a lifetime manufacturing. Labour is on a frustrating journey of its own but with Jeremy Corbyn’s MPs voting this week for the economic assessments, Farage’s referendum call last week and a public mood slowly changing over many months, it leaves me cautiously hopeful that Brexitgeddon will be avoided.
