Salt is linked to dementia
EATING too much salt could increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
Trials on mice at Cornell University in New York found salt causes changes in the gut that cuts blood flow to the brain.
Dr Sara Imarisio, of Alzheimer’s Research UK, said: “We know too much salt can be bad for the heart.
“This study suggests it can have negative consequences for the brain.”
