Clarke’s very happy return

FOOTBALL hero Clarke Carlisle returned to Liverpool yesterday for the first since contemplating suicide there in September.

Clarke, 38, took part in a “mental health marathon” radio show, marking Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year.

The ex-QPR star sparked a police hunt when he went to the city looking for somewhere to kill himself.

He told Radio Talk City listeners his return marked a “positive” step, that had made it a “very good day”.
