ITV Susanna blasts Beeb over pay gap
QUESTIONS Susanna Reid ITV star Susanna Reid says the BBC must do more to tackle the gender pay gap – as questions remain over whether she is paid the same as Piers Morgan.
The Good Morning presenter said: “The BBC has a particular responsibility because it’s public money. And it’s vital feminist voices are heard, and I call myself a feminist.”
Her comments in the Radio Times come despite speculation over whether she is paid the same as Morgan, who is said to be on £1.1million.
Meanwhile, former BBC Radio 4 presenter Libby Purves says “greedy and vain” male journalists should get pay cuts.
If they threaten to leave, tell them: “BBC News itself is the star,” she said.
