ITV, 7.30pm Dog lovers rejoice, everyone else run away as this whopping two-and-a-halfhour marathon counts down our top 100 canines.

Like a furry beauty pageant, the pooches – decided by a survey of 10,000 people – are paraded before us one by one as the list moves along and we hear the attributes of every breed.

Dog lovers Ben Fogle and Sara Cox guide us through a barrage of muttrelated facts and figures, illustrated with some snazzy slo-mo images of

To add some showbiz, producers have also roped in celebrity pet owners, including Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Gok Wan and Gabby Logan, who all introduce us to their beloved canine pets. Even Prince Harry makes an appearance.

The show features dozens of proud dog owners, all making their case for their own favourite, sharing stories of some extraordinary, talented and heroic hounds. Other than perhaps Bake Off, never has there been a more typically British programme than this!
