EVERTON BAG £20M WALCOTT
EVERTON believe they have won the race to sign Theo Walcott for £20million. The Toffees have beaten off interest from south coast duo Southampton – Walcott’s old club – and Bournemouth to land the Arsenal winger. Everton have agreed t to match his £140,000a-week wages and hope to get the deal wrapped up this week. Walcott (left) will end his 12-year association with the Gunners. He joined them from Saints in January 2006, aged just 16. The 28-year-old made 397 appearances for Arsenal and scored 108 goals. A fresh start will hand Walcott the chance to revive his club and England career ahead of the World Cup in Russia.
