Disgusting Trump unwelcome here

- FIONA PARKER Edited by

GREAT nations deserve great leaders – but sadly America is lacking the kind of leader the world needs to achieve peace and develop good trading links between nations.

After his latest reported disgusting outburst, the entire world can now see the level of foul language that falls from his mouth.

Thank goodness he has got the message he is not welcome here. He lacks the correct understanding and etiquette of international protocol and certainly cannot be called a statesman, or even a gentleman.

He’s just a foul-mouthed buffoon who craves attention. America deserves better. Reg Barrett, Southminster, Essex

What great news. Donald Trump has decided not to visit this country in February. His excuse was that the old US Embassy was sold too cheaply by Barack Obama and the new one is in “an off location”, whatever that means. So nothing to do with probable mass demonstrations, then? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the Obamas came here for Harry and Meghan’s wedding, while Trump’s invitation became unaccountably lost in the post? Paul Methven Winscombe Somerset

Were Boris Johnson and Donald Trump separated at birth? Neither of them deserve to hold any kind of o government

office. They each have the tact of a charging rhinoceros and the social skills of a three-year-old. To resort to insults and outright lies, reveals both have the mentality of the playground.

The British and US people deserve better from elected politicians, but Theresa May hasn’t the backbone to sack Johnson and the American people seem to be stuck with a bombastic bully for four years. Mary Pester, Saltash, Cornwall

Donald Trump has been forced to deny he used foul and racist language to de s c r ibe Haiti and some Af r i c a n countries, but given his track

record, who believes him? The man is an idiot who has achieved nothing during his time in the Oval Office. I am glad he has cancelled his visit to the UK, but no doubt he will have to come at some point.

Why hasn’t America started proceedings to remove him from office? Ian Purvis, Reading, Berks

Following President Trump’s reportedly racist views on some Central American and African states, he has finally dragged the USA into the international gutter. They need to get rid of him – and quickly. J Hinchliff, Bury, Lancs

Donald Trump has got the message loud and clear that he is not welcome in the UK and what nonsense of some to suggest it will harm our relationship with America. Very few Americans agree with his foul-mouthed Twitter outbursts. Michael Elias

Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire

I am delighted Trump won’t be visiting the UK. But Theresa May is no better than him after holding his hand in Washington, which was a complete disgrace. Steven McNamara Middlesbrough
