106mph in a 30mph zone

A MOTORIST has been clocked doing 106mph, the highest speed recorded on any 30mph road in the UK.

Another driver in Tayside was caught doing 148mph, more than twice the limit, in an Audi S3 with cloned plates on the A90 north of Dundee.

A study by UK Carline Tayside found that in 2016 60,465 speeding tickets were issued in Tayside.

Only West Yorkshire, Surrey and West Mercia issued more. MSP Liam Kerr blasted the “obscene “flouting of speed limits.
