Gunman must buzz off

A SHOP owner chased a gunwielding robber from her mini market with a can of wasp spray.

The masked raider burst into the store and pointed a gun at the head of Shiyam Gunawardena, 46.

Shiyam hit the panic button then picked up the wasp spray and pointed it at his eyes, forcing him to flee empty handed from the shop in Beeston, Notts.

Shiyam said: “I wanted to scare him. I ran after him, I was very angry. I wanted to catch him.”

Her husband Marshan said: “She was heroic but it was too risky. He could have shot her.”

Police are hunting the robber.
