Tesco customers furious at changes to Clubcard points
SHOPPERS have slammed Tesco over changes to its Clubcard loyalty scheme.
The store has 16 million cardholders who tot up points that are translated into vouchers every three months.
These can be used for treats such as meals or days out with partner restaurants, shops and attractions for two or four times their value.
But now Tesco says most deals are changing to three times the value to “simplify” things. One customer said: “We had £89 saved up in vouchers, worth £356. Now they’re worth £267. No advance warning.”
Martin Lewis of MoneySavingExpert. com urged a U-turn over the “slap in the face to loyal customers”.
In addition, 57 rewards partners are leaving, including Halfords. Anika Newjoto of shopperpoints.co.uk said letting them leave now was a “further insult” to customers.
