Crossbow mum out of danger

A PREGNANT mum shot in a crossbow attack in which her partner was murdered is said to be “out of danger” in hospital.

Laura Sugden, who is in her late 20s, was last night recovering from serious injuries to her neck and throat. Dad-ofthree Shane Gilmer, 30, was killed by the intruder who lay in wait at their home in Southburn, East Yorks. A source close to her family said: “The baby is safe.”

Police began a hunt for Anthony Lawrence, 55, who was later found dead.
