chain JD Sports yesterday upped its profit forecast for the second time in four months after bucking the high street gloom. Shares jumped in the firm as it announced a sales 3% rise in in the second half of last year. It now expects profits to surge from £238m to around £300m for the year to February. JD also owns fashion chain Scotts and outdoor gear retailer Blacks.
