Sad farewell to pioneer Cyrille
Thanks for your tribute to West Brom legend Cyrille Regis who died from a heart attack at just 59 (Mirror, Jan 16).
He was a pioneer, only the third black footballer to be capped by England.
And he paved the way for top black players such as Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke, as well as today’s young stars.
What a footballer and what a man. RIP, Cyrille, may your legend live on.
