‘DYCHE WAS A WORM EATER’

- BY JOHN CROSS

SEAN DYCHE got his gravelly voice from eating worms. That is the bizarre claim from the Burnley boss’ former team-mate Soren Andersen, who said Dyche (left) used to tuck in before every training session. Ex-Bristol City striker Andersen said: “He had exactly the same voice. Maybe the voice comes from eating earthworms, because every time we trained he used to eat earthworms.

“It was horrible, I’ve never experienced anything like it. It was like, ‘Whoops, there’s an earthworm’ and then he ate it.

“It was a bit disgusting and very strange. Every time we came out on the training pitch, there were disgusting worms everywhere. I think Sean just ate one or two to show us it was something we shouldn’t focus on.

“He probably walks on the pitch an hour early now and scouts for worms. I wouldn’t share a lunch box with him.”
