Worboys victims in legal bid to halt rapist cabbie’s release
TWO victims of rapist taxi driver John Worboys are launching a legal challenge to stop his being released.
Lawyers acting for the women are poised to seek a judicial review of the Parole Board’s decision to free him after 10 years in prison.
The victims, both drugged and sexually assaulted by him, are trying to raise £10,000 to fund the challenge. The former London PREDATOR Cabbie John Worboys black cab driver, 60, was jailed indefinitely in 2009, with a minimum term of eight years, for 19 offences against 12 victims – but he has been linked to more than 100 complaints. One victim said: “He’s ruining my life all over again.” Another said: “How can a prolific sex offender be rehabilitated in a short space of time?” A formal letter has been sent to the Parole Board asking for his release to be halted.
