Reds rap star over assault on girlfriend
LIVERPOOL player Jon Flanagan faces a fight to save his Anfield career after the club blasted him for attacking his girlfriend.
The defender was yesterday given 40 hours of unpaid work and a 12-month community order for assaulting Rachael Wall.
Liverpool FC said: “We condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the player’s actions. The club has allowed legal formalities to reach a conclusion before deciding on or implementing any internal disciplinary action. That process will now begin.”
Liverpool magistrates saw CCTV of Flanagan, 25, hitting Ms Wall in the city last month, then pushing her on a wall and kicking her. He admitted common assault by beating.
