ALTIOR faces his Queen Mother Champion Chase D-Day with a crucial workout on Saturday morning.

The even-money favourite for the Bet way sponsored two-miler at Cheltenham on March 14 has yet to run since landing the Arkle Trophy at the Festival last spring after his return was delayed by breathing surgery.

Confirming Altior would be “stepping his work up” on Saturday, trainer Nicky Henderson added: “We’ll know more then.”
