13 kids in 2yr plan to flee horror house
THE 13 children whose parents are accused of imprisoning and torturing them had planned their escape for two years.
They told investigators they were tied with ropes, then shackled with chains and padlocks after one managed to get free.
David, 57, and Louise Turpin, 49, have appeared in court charged with torture, false imprisonment and sex abuse in Perris, California.
District Attorney Mike Hestrin said theirs was “depraved conduct”.
Talking about the victims, aged two to 29, he said: “They’re relieved. They’re in good hands.”
The court heard the girl of 17 who fled to raise the alarm on Sunday was joined by a sibling who returned home scared.
