NBA2K18
Sports fans have no shortage of annual titles to look forward to and this year’s instalment of Visual Concept’s basketball franchise is a comfortable improvement. Individual players are more attuned around the court with movement, ball control and shooting all varying – giving plenty of depth to different matches.
The usual bevvy of game modes will keep completists happy for days. An expanded MyCareer mode lets you take a player from the street to the big-time. Like other gaming blockbusters, NBA2K18 contains in-game microtransactions – so beware.
Camera angles, live commentary (from Shaquille O’Neal, among others) and even the whizz-bang graphics mean this looks as close to what you’d see on the telly as possible. The downside is that the information overload may well alienate some non-basketball fans.
