Freezer killer wanted to put bodies in acid bath, jury told
AN obsessed builder was “inspired” by acid bath killer John Haigh as he plotted to rape and murder his niece and another young woman, a court heard.
Mujahid Arshid, 33, had a Google account in the name of Haigh, registered the email ineedanacidbath@space.com, and planned to dissolve his victims in the same way as the 1940s killer, the prosecution allege. The body of his niece Celine Dookhran, 20, was found in a freezer at a house he was renovating. Yesterday the Old Bailey jury saw a hospital video in which the second young woman, who cannot be named, said Arshid told her she had “10 minutes to live” after slitting her throat. She watched as he then molested Celine’s body, she added. Arshid, of Mitchem, Surrey, denies nine charges including murder and attempted murder. The case continues.
