Hunger for a slice of reality
Singer Suggs has admitted he cries watching MasterChef, and I reckon there are plenty of others weeping too as they struggle to find a TV show that doesn’t involve smug people telling us they’re “passionate about food”.
You see, most people have a passion for the stuff that keeps them alive, especially the 600,000 in the UK who are using food banks. They’re really passionate. But until TV producers start putting on shows called The Great British Starve Off, they’re forced to watch strangers orgasm over some lavish dish while hunger pains gnaw away at their stomach.
Is anyone in TV land thinking about them as they commission yet another cookery show, or only their ratings?
