Zip wire ‘peril for RAF jets’

THE RAF have blasted plans for zip wires across a reservoir as a hazard to their low-flying trainer jets.

The wires 420ft above Thirlmere in the Lakes would run for 3,600ft, the longest ride in England.

The MoD said jets would be unable to identify them “or safely navigate away”.
