JUDD TRUMP swatted Shaun Murphy at the Masters after seeing his rival attacked by wasps.

The 28-year-old Trump, bidding for a first title at London’s Alexandra Palace, set up a semi-final against Kyren Wilson with a 6-4 victory. But the fourth frame was held up for four minutes when two wasps made a beeline for world No.6 Murphy, who lost the frame and later moaned: “I am terrified of wasps – who isn’t? What are they for?”

Trump, the new tournament favourite after the exits of Ronnie O’Sullivan and Mark Selby, was all smiles.

Trump (above) said: “Usually when the draw of a tournament opens up, I go out – so I won’t be getting excited just yet about some of the players who have lost.”
