THE BOY’S TON WELL

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

SEAN DYCHE today clocks up his 100th Premier League game with Burnley – but admitted he never thought he would get that far. Dyche, who took charge in October 2012 when Burnley were struggling in the Championship, said: “I knew it must be coming up but I didn’t know it was this game. It’s an achievement. I’d have been a liar if I said when I came here that I expected to be still the manager in five years’ time and have 100 Premier League games under my belt.” But the gravelly-voiced boss (above) is not looking towards the 200-match milestone, despite guiding Burnley to seventh spot. “Who knows?” he said. “Zero to hero and hero to zero. You can never say ‘I’m going to do this many games’. You have to be ready to dodge the bullets.” Burnley’s impressive run has been halted by a spell of six Premier League games without a win and Dyche said: “We are Burnley — we are not immune to a run like that.”
