Forgiven NOT forgotten

NO HARD FEELINGS FOR GOSLING AFTER MOYES EVERTON REJECTION

- BY ALEX CROOK

DAN GOSLING says he has forgiven David Moyes for making his Everton departure a tearful one.

Gosling and West Ham boss Moyes had a spat when the Bournemouth ace quit Goodison Park to join Newcastle eight years ago.

The midfielder’s agent claimed Gosling broke down crying after Moyes went back on a pledge to offer him a new contract.

But Gosling (right) insists the pair have kissed and made up ahead of today’s London Stadium reunion, saying: “He signed me as a young kid and took a gamble on me, so I will always appreciate that.

“He gave me my Premier League debut and it was a shame how things were left but we have both moved on now.

“We shook each other’s hand last time we saw each other.

“If people held grudges in football you would never speak to anyone – we are fine. We had a difference of opinion at the time, and I had an injury which put a spanner in the works. “A lot of people probably wrote David Moyes off but he is so experienced in the Premier League. “He is up there as one of the best managers I have had. “He had Everton flying when I was there. It was unfortunate at Manchester United for him. “It maybe wasn’t quite the right timing and he didn’t really inherit a great squad. “He looks like he has turned the corner with West Ham, he has a few boys back onside and a few working hard for him.” Bournemouth pray history does not repeat itself following their humbling 3-0 FA Cup replay defeat in midweek at Wigan. Last January they crashed out 3-0 at Millwall – and then went seven games without a win.
