PUSH TO BE TESTED

-

It was so sad to hear of the late Laura Vickery getting breast cancer at just 25 and doctors not believing she could have it so young (Mirror, Jan 17).

My own sister found a lump after her third child at 27 and the doctors put it down to a blocked milk duct. Eight months on and it was cancer. Like Laura’s, it had spread to her liver, then her lungs and bones. She lost her fight aged 31.

I urge any young woman with unusual symptoms like lumps, bleeding, dimpling and so on to push for thorough tests. Jane Giles Berkshire
