The live tour rolls into cities again and it’s a high-octane spectacular. Darcey Bussell is on the panel for the first time, with Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel-Horwood.

The show, which kicked off in Birmingham, features all four finalists – Debbie McGee and Giovanni Pernice, Alexandra Burke and Gorka Marquez, Gemma Atkinson and Aljaz Skorjanec and champions Joe McFadden and Katya Jones. Susan Calman and Kevin Clifton, Davood Ghadami and Nadiya Bychkova and Jonnie Peacock and Oti Mabuse also appear.

Biggest surprise of the night was host and previous winner Ore Oduba. His comedy timing was perfect and he reminded fans of his none-too-shoddy dancing with a silky La La Land number. Tess and Claudia had better watch out...

Aljaz performed a storming paso doble with Gemma while Giovanni and Debbie proved what an inspired pairing the duo are.

The near three-hour extravaganza had a “best of” compilation – so naturally we had Susan’s joyous Bring Me Sunshine and samba and Alexandra and Gorka’s electric jive – for many a contender for the stand-out dance of Strictly 2017.

Fans can vote for their favourite, with potentially a different winner every night of the run till February 11.
