‘Zero points’ benefits hell
MORE than 220,000 people have been “written off ” as ineligible for disability benefits, new figures show.
Personal Independence Payment tests give people points based on their ability to do tasks.
Up to 12 points are needed to get higher benefits – but 220,390 people scored zero in 2016-17.
Labour MP Angela Eagle called the data “deeply worrying” and warned of soaring distress levels.
