£1,500 blow on energy bill

MILLIONS of families have lost £1,500 in the past six years by failing to switch their energy supplier.

Despite the possibility of saving £300 a year, a third told YouGov they did not see the point of a change as all firms are the same.

The poll for the Big Energy Saving Week comes after Ofgem said 35% – or nine million – did not change providers between 2012 and 2017.

Energy Saving Trust chief Philip Sellwood said: “Millions still aren’t accessing savings.”
