BOSSES TO OPEN FIRE

-

Company chiefs are planning more job cuts, despite business booming. The number of CEOs expecting to reduce staff has grown from 10% to 15% in the past year. And fewer are aiming to recruit, says accountant PwC’s survey of 193 UK top bosses.

Yet the poll, published as bigwigs gather for the start of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, today found 88% of bosses are chipper about their firms’ prospects for the year ahead, with confidence in the global economy doubling.

A wider poll of global CEOs ranked the UK as the fourth most important country to invest in after the US, China and Germany – despite Brexit looming.
