Eriksen is a big miss

ERIC DIER admitted Tottenham missed Christian Eriksen as the Londoners lost ground in the race for the top four.

The flu-hit Dane (below) failed to start his first Premier League game of the season as they were held by Southampton in a sluggish South Coast display.

“Christian is a fantastic player,” Dier said. “We have a very strong squad, but there aren’t a lot of players like Christian.

“He plays an important role in the team. He is one of the links between phases of play. And obviously he can create chances and score goals as well.

“The Southampton result was very disappointing.”
