He’s Edin to Chelsea
ANTONIO CONTE is ready to end his hunt for a big striker after Chelsea made a £50million double deal involving Edin Dzeko.
Chelsea have agreed a price with Roma for the £30m-valued former Manchester City hitman plus Brazilian left-back Emerson Palmieri.
Emerson, 23, has agreed terms while Dzeko’s agents flew in yesterday to finalise a £120,000-a-week deal.
Bosnian Dzeko, 31, has reservations about being a back-up to Alvaro Morata but will receive assurances about playing time.
Chelsea play hardball with stars aged over 30, but are clearly ready to bend their house rules to get Dzeko over the line.
Emerson arrives after they failed to sign Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
But the Blues are sweating again over keeper Thibaut Courtois, who has yet to agree a new £200,000-a-week contract on offer, now Real Madrid have renewed their interest in the Belgian No.1.
