MANE CHANCE For Jodie

BBC2, 8pm These two bearded bikers never fail to raise a smile, they’re always so irrepressibly cheerful.

They are doing almost 3,000 miles around the Med on a gastro tour of “culinary loveliness”, cooking with locals, getting stuck into cultural traditions and making us envious of the sunshine.

On this leg, they are in Marseille, where they meet a woman called Fatima. What she doesn’t know about 5STAR, 8pm

GRAVITY-DEFYING and downright bizarre, this fantasy hair competition is a strangely compelling parade of daring dos.

Provencale cooking isn’t worth knowing.

In the Camargue, they find wild, white horses and black bulls.

They make an olive tapenade at the Roman aqueduct of the Pont du Gard and dine like Roman aristocrats in Nimes.

Next, they explore the salt flats of Aigues Mortes before heading towards Catalan country and the apricot and cherry orchards of Ceret.

And watch out for the moment when Si surprises Dave by arranging for his wife Liliana to meet them in Nimes. Dave is positively bowled over.
