Butlins hit by meat supply firm scandal
HOLIDAY park giants Butlins and Haven have axed products from the company at the centre of a major meat recall.
Pub chains Greene King and Marstons, and Hilton hotels are among outlets to ditch Russell Hume.
It came as the Derbybased meat firm said it was a “serious shock” to be probed by the Food Standards Agency for alleged breaches of hygiene laws.
It said: “There has never been a suggestion of any Russell Hume-supplied product causing illness.”
The scare broke when Wetherspoons cancelled its steak night on Tuesday.
