BBC1, 10.35pm The red couch is taken over tonight by stars of Mission Impossible 6.

Yes, we really are up to number six in this franchise. A quick internet check reveals it has in fact been 22 years since the first Mission: Impossible movie, but let’s not dwell on that.

Tom Cruise is in town. He’s always a good talkshow guest – remember that time he leapt over a sofa while declaring his love for future ex-wife Katie Holmes on The Oprah Winfrey Show? He is joined by his co-stars Henry Cavill (aka Superman), who plays Reville Smites, Rebecca Ferguson, who plays Ilsa Faust, and Simon Pegg, who plays technical field agent Benji Dunn.

Tom, of course, reprises his role as super-spy Ethan Hunt.

All four actors will surely perform a slick promotion for this latest blockbuster.

Plus, there is music and chat from the marvellously wacky Paloma Faith, who performs ‘Til I’m Done.
