Super Mario has to be up to speed

-

DAVID MOYES hopes Joao Mario can ‘hit the ground running’ to help solve West Ham’s injury nightmare.

But the Scot fears the Portugal midfielder might be the only arrival, on a loan switch from Inter Milan.

Boss Moyes has seven first-team men out of the FA Cup tie at League One Wigan, including five attackers.

“My biggest concern is Mario getting used to the Premier League, and its speed and competitiveness compared to Italy or Portugal,” said Moyes. “His ability is not in question and I hope he can hit the ground running. There is no guarantee there will be anybody else coming in.”
