DAN’S DONS PREM BID IN FIVE YEARS

-

NEW boss Dan Micciche has revealed an ambitious five-year plan to take MK Dons into the Premier League.

Micciche, who takes charge of MK for the first time today when the League One strugglers host Coventry in the FA Cup fourth round, said: “In the short term we have to get out of the relegation zone. We should not be there.

“If we get on a run we will take it from there and we know it has been done. The motto here is Premier League in everything we do.

“We have to think about five months and five years. The five months is this situation, getting ourselves as high up the table as possible. But in five years the plan is to be in the Premier League. There is no reason we cannot do it.”

Micciche, 38, had an unheralded playing career and his only previous managerial experience was coaching England’s Under-16 side.

He added: “We have fantastic experience in the backroom staff. I am not naive and knew I needed experience alongside me.

“I have followed this league for many years and I think I have what it takes to be successful here.

“We have a good crop of players who are under performing for whatever reason. I think we can climb the league very quickly.”
