EL HATH NO FURY
Wolves players met Tyson in Spain and they vow to land a KO victory for Espirito Santo
WOLVES are aiming to unleash Fury on Ipswich – after crossing paths with boxing’s self-titled ‘Gypsy King’.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s Championship table-toppers flew out to Marbella for a training camp this week. Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was based in the same resort as he steps up his bid for a ring comeback.
Boss Nuno admitted his team “need Vitamin D” after the defeat to Nottingham Forest last weekend which made it four games without a win in all competitions.
Fury posed for pictures with members of the Wolves squad – including club skipper Danny Batth and joint-top scorer Diogo Jota.
Batth tweeted: “Bigman all the best! Only a passing visit but can’t wait to see him back in the ring @Tyson_Fury”
Meanwhile, Jota, who stands 5ft 10in and weighs 11st, posted a snap with the 6ft 8in 20st self-titled ‘Gypsy King,’ adding: “No chance for him!” The 21-year-old Atletico Madrid loanee might cut a diminutive figure – but Batth insists he has been a man mountain this season. The Portuguese attacking midfielder has netted 12 times – earning him rave reviews. And Wolves are keen to make his temporary deal permanent as they eye top-flight football next term. “The way he has stood up to the physicality of the Championship has been superb,” said defender Batth. “He has done great for us and has real quality about him. He and Leo Bonatini have really formed the spearhead of our attack this season.” Having been freescoring for much of the season, Wolves have found the net just once in their last four games in all competitions. But the Black Country club head into today’s clash against old boss Mick McCarthy still nine points clear of secondplaced Derby. And they are 11 ahead of the play-off places. “I think the fans know we are always trying to do the right things,” Batth added.
