Jilted hacker banned from Essex for 1yr
A MAN who hacked into his ex’s Instagram account and deleted pictures of her has been ordered to stay out of Essex for a year.
Joshua McMurtry, 22, sent the model unwanted calls, emails and letters after she ditched him for being too controlling.
McMurtry recorded a message threatening to kill himself, magistrates in Colchester were told.
The victim said his behaviour had severely affected her mental health.
Louise Maples, for McMurtry, said it was his first relationship, adding: “It was very devastating for him that it ended without any real explanation.”
The retail manager, from Nottingham, admitted harassment without violence and must do 160 hours of unpaid work.
