EVANS DOESN’T MISS BEING IN WOLVES PACK
LEE EVANS is not upset at missing out on Wolves’ promotion charge.
But Evans (above, with Clayton Donaldson) still feels the pain of being rejected as a 15-year-old by Bristol Rovers. And when the midfielder returns to Molineux with his new Sheffield United side, he will be mulling over what might have been – with the Pirates.
Evans, 23, who joined the Blades for £850,000 from the Championship leaders last month, said:”It’s exciting times at Wolves with multi-million pound signings and the team racing away at the top. Not being a part of all that doesn’t bother me – it’s being released by Rovers as a kid that remains my biggest disappointment in football.
“To be told at that age I’d never make it was a real kick in the teeth. But I was determined to prove Bristol wrong.”
