4yrs clear and running marathons
MUM Alice Roythorne celebrates four years since finishing her cancer treatment this month – during which time she has completed two marathons.
Alice, 41, of St Athan, South Wales, found out she was pregnant days before being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She had radiotherapy on her neck, during which she wore a lead apron to protect her baby.
Macie was born in the summer of 2004 and six weeks later Alice began chemotherapy.
She was nearing 10 years free from cancer when she was diagnosed for a second time in 2013 and started a year of treatment for Ewing’s sarcoma, which is very rare in adults.
