CARVALHAL’S KISS OF LIFE

- BY JAMES NURSEY

CARLOS CARVALHAL believes Swansea’s revival means the team’s “funeral” is cancelled. The draw at Leicester makes it just one defeat in nine games since he succeeded Paul Clement in December with City bottom and looking doomed. They are now out of the drop zone. Carvalhal said: “When we arrived the team was almost dead. At my first press conference the word everyone was using was ‘miracle’. We knew exactly what the situation was – we were near the crematorium. I wasn’t in the crematorium but the team was there. The funeral car was waiting. “But when we won at Watford in my first game we started breathing and after a lot of work the players are believing. The psychological part of the team is very strong now.”
