Uni hopefuls dip by 5,160

-

UNIVERSITY applications have dropped for the second year in a row.

A total 559,030 had applied by January 15, down 5,160 (0.9%) on 2017.

Ucas said it was down to fewer UK applicants, driven by a drop in the number of 18-year-olds.

The Department for Education said: “University application rates remain at record levels.”
