CORBYN’S NO DANGER

-

In reply to Roy Mounsey who claims Jeremy Corbyn “would be a real danger to this country” (Madeuthink, January 31), I ask in what way?

Unlike the Tories, Jezza is an accountable, compassionate leader. Every penny pledged in Labour’s manifesto was clearly costed and, despite claims by his opponents, he would only use the armed forces if all other options had been exhausted.

Jeremy Corbyn is exactly what Britain needs at this moment. Rob Wildey, Tamworth Staffs

With an almost £1billion hole in the Carillion pension pot, the shareholders should be losing their houses, cars and any other assets until this and the company’s other debts are satisfied. Taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to underwrite the reckless gambles of greedy shareholders. Make them pay for their negligence and poor management. Rob Sutton, Warrington

Brendan Cole has been a memorable part of Strictly for 15 years and has outlasted many of his less controversial colleagues.

But his inappropriate comments to those not performing well and his patronising calling of new head judge Shirley Ballas “my dear” in a spat on live television wasn’t very impressive.

Strictly has now moved on and so, it seems, should Brendan! Diane Silva Lytham, Lancs
