Alfie parents’ plea to judge: Halt the case
A FATHER fighting to stop medics withdrawing life support for his braindamaged little boy has asked a judge for a second time to adjourn the case.
An earlier request by Alfie Evans’s parents to delay a decision on the 20-month-old was turned down last week.
Dad Tom Evans, 21, and mum Emma James, 20, sent a letter yesterday.
Mr Evans wrote that Alfie “has outlived all expectations and there is no documented reason why he cannot continue in this peaceful state”.
They want to take him to a hospital in Italy to see if his life can be saved.
Medics at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool say there is “no chance” of Alfie recovering. The High Court hearing continues.
