Students told to clean boots & shovel snow

LUIS Michael Training had claimed to be “one of the UK’s largest training providers to the active leisure sector”.

But the reality of the courses did not match up to the promises.

I told in June 2011 how students were sent to football clubs where they spent the day doing menial jobs.

“The apprentice­s shovelled snow and cleaned boots,” one mother told me, while an angry dad said his son had been “completely exploited”.

It was hardly surprising colleges axed the courses, but Aizlewood’s co-director Paul Sugrue refused to accept Luis Michael Training was at fault.
