Chris hopes his return is good for Sol

CHRIS FROOME starts his 2018 season in Spain next week still under a cloud after his dope test.

Britain’s four-time Tour de France champ will race for Team Sky at the Ruta del Sol from February 14- 18.

But Froome could still lose last year’s Vuelta title and get a 12-month ban after a urine sample last September contained twice the permitted level of asthma drug salbutamol.

He said: “I am sure we‘ll get to the bottom of what happened. I’m working hard with the team to do that.”
